Litigation Attorney

We have immediate openings in our Dallas and Houston offices for team-oriented litigation attorneys who are self-motivated. Candidates must have 5 to 7 years of civil litigation experience for a personal injury docket; knowledge of insurance defense practice, including local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law is required. Insurance defense experience a plus.
Essential Functions:
  • Consult and report to clients; including case assessment, legal analysis, and resolution strategy.
  • Send and answer discovery; draft pleadings; attend depositions, hearings, mediations and trials.
  • Must have the ability to handle a busy docket and have a strong work ethic.
  • Candidates must have excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills, as well as a commitment to client service.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision is required.

We are seeking a full-time paralegal with minimum 7 to 10 years of experience.  Certification is not required, however, current Texas paralegal experience is a must, high volume docket a plus as well as trial experience and daily billable timekeeping. 
This position requires experience in training and mentoring junior paralegals. Candidates must be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to perform consistent high-quality work while cognizant of task-related deadlines.


Other duties include:
• Drafting of pleadings, motions and discovery;
• Preparing for depositions, mediations and trial;
• Communicating with clients, claim specialists and expert witnesses; 
• Ordering medical records and preparing medical chronologies; and
• Summarizing witness testimony.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.


Legal Secretary

We have immediate openings for a full-time Legal Secretary with 5 to 7 year of experience to support three attorneys on a busy desk.
Duties include :
  • Transcribes and reviews attorney-generated correspondence and documents for accuracy in spelling, grammar, facts and adherence to court-mandated guidelines (local, state and federal);
  • Handles non-billable tasks for assigned attorneys, which includes preparing and updating active file lists and litigation charts and creating shell pleadings;
  • Reviews and assesses all documents, including correspondence, pleadings and court notices via U.S. mail, e-mail, fax and phone messages for new information, deadlines, and to facilitate distribution of same to team and/or outside personnel as required and to save to Worldox system.
  • Participates in conference calls and meetings with team, clients, court and counsel of record to schedule client meetings, depositions, mediation, court appearances, as well as obtain case information and follow-up on attorney correspondence and filings;
  • Track calendar deadlines, including pre-suit, pleadings and discovery, trial and pre-trial matters from U.S. mail, internet, and fax communications;
  • Participates in interoffice conferences with attorneys, paralegals, managers, secretaries, and file clerks to facilitate a cohesive approach to file management and client representation, and to organize case development; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Strong knowledge of MS Word as well as an intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint experience is a plus.
