Michael Blase - Senior Associate
Biography
Michael is an artful litigator with a diverse background. He majored in Cell Biology and Philosophy as an undergraduate at Siena College and subsequently earned a post-grad degree in Cell Pathology from Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, followed by his JD from Albany Law School. While at Albany Law, he concentrated in Intellectual Property and served as a teaching assistant for Real Property I & II, and on the executive board of the Rugy Football Club.
Michael gained valuable experience as an intern law clerk in the Northern District of New York with Senior Judge Hon. Lawrence E. Kahn, and as the principal law clerk to Hon. Stacy Nowicki-Eldridge in the Circuit Court for West Virginia’s 9th Judicial Circuit in Madison, West Virginia. He values public service and strives to engage in 100 hours of pro-bono work each year for individuals and families who would otherwise not have access to quality representation.
Michael is part of The Willis Law Group’s New York Fraud Investigation Team and focuses his practice primarily on complex investigations and counter-fraud litigation. Michael’s medical background is substantial and includes contributing to two peer-reviewed journal articles for Biochemistry while still an undergraduate and working for two years in the pathology lab at San Francisco General Hospital. He also has several years of experience as a licensed private investigator. Michael has a knack for relating to others, which underscores his talent as an oral advocate inside and outside of the courtroom. He notes that one of his favorite parts of his law practice is building meaningful relationships with his fellow team members and claims professionals.
