Biography
Moniqua' Scott is a Texas attorney with experience in insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, criminal law, and family law. She has successfully managed high-volume litigation matters from initial case assessment through trial, providing strategic counsel, evaluating liability and damages, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. Her practice is marked by a pragmatic approach to litigation, strong advocacy skills, and a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Prior to focusing on insurance defense matters, Moniqua' gained extensive courtroom experience as both a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. She handled felony and misdemeanor cases through all phases of litigation, conducted numerous trials to verdict, negotiated case resolutions, and collaborated with law enforcement, investigative teams, and client service professionals. This diverse litigation background provides her with a well-rounded perspective in evaluating and resolving complex legal disputes.
Moniqua' earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston, where she participated in the Varsity Mock Trial Team, Appellate Advocacy, and Family Law Trial Advocacy programs. During law school, she also served as an academic intern in the Felony Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. She received multiple honors, including placement on the Dean’s Honor List, the Ethics in Advocacy Award, and recognition as a Presidential Fellow.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Communication from Texas A&M University and is admitted to practice law in the State of Texas. Moniqua' is also an active member of professional organizations dedicated to legal excellence and leadership within the profession.
